Brazil, Argentina, Portugal and Wales Upfront?

Could the next game against Sunderland be one full of South American flamboyance mixed with a bit of Portuguese genius and Welsh wizadry?

The Manchester Evening News was exepcting Anderson to join up with Tevez against Spurs but it looks more likely that he'll play a part in the Sunderland game.

But the player I'd like to see on the bench is Lee Martin. He's a cracking young kid with pace that could rival both Nani and Ronaldo.

Bring it on!

Banter with the scum hots up

It looks like Rafael Benitiez has got a "bit of chip on his shoulder" after reportedly complaining about how quick it took Utd to "sign" Carlos Tevez in comparison to their signing of Javier Mascherano.

And now the Hienze saga is rumbling on with Fergie saying they're going to investigate Liverpool for making an illegal approach:

"We're investigating at the moment. David [Gill, United's chief executive] is working on that at the moment and he'll get to the bottom of it.

"They had no chance of winning that case. He [Benitez] obviously didn't study the Premier League rules, but I'm disappointed with some of the stuff he's come out with. He's got a chip on his shoulder about it. I've no axe to grind with Gabby. But the issue is without question how much he really has listened to us rather than his agent." - Mark Ogden, Telegraph 25/08/2007

Man Utd 1 - 0 Spurs

Well he's still not hit the back of the net with a goal of his own. But Carlos Tevez can be happy that he played some part in Utd's win over Spurs on Sunday.

The game wasn't a classic by any stretch of the imagination but a win is a win. We didn't dominate the game as we did with the previous three and it took a stroke of genius from Nani to secure the three points.

For me Scholes isn't at his best and Giggs looks restricted in his role as captain.

I can't wait for Gary Neville to come back next month and Ronaldo against Everton. Hopefully Rooney will be back for the Chelsea game at the back end of the month.

Barn Door Anyone? Citeh V. Utd Review

My gran could have knocked at least one of those chances in on Sunday! It was a pure farce.

Just like the other games this season - we had the majority of the play but just could not score. We hit the bar, we had balls flash just wide of the open ne, but it just go in the net!

We need an out and out striker with Rooney or Tevez playing just behind and causing havock - streatching their defence left right and centre.

I'm not looking forward to the game on Sunday against Spurs!

Interesting Bet of the Week

News is that it's jut 4-1 for both Utd and Citeh to have a player sent off on Sunday.

Now that's worth a fiver if I've ever seen a cracking bet.

Citeh v. United Preview

Watching the Fergie pre-match conference you could see he's seething with the completely inept refereeing from Wednesday night. The only problem is that it may have a big part in what happens on Sunday afternoon.

Ronaldo is missing, and when you add that to the absence of Rooney, Neville, Saha and Ole then the pressure will be on the shoulders of the new boys. My view, however, is that Fergie will look to the old heads of Silvestre and Fletcher with Anderson and O'Shea on the bench ready to come on and offer a mixture of imagination and grit.

O'Shea is big match player. He loves popping up with those crucial goals. So expect a bit of Irish magic this weekend.

What do I expect from Tevez? Well what I expect and want is quite often two different things. But I'd love for him to step up and bang the ball in the back of the net after just five minutes. I wouldn't be surprised if O'Shea will get a goal just before half time. And then Tevez will get a goal later on.

The game will be a dirty one from Citeh's side. They'll try and wind up the United players. They'll cheat and be dirty buggers as usual. But in the end the result will be 1-3 with United walking away worthy victors.
